Security, and how to spot a fake Lertha
Lertha will never ask for your PIN, OTP, BVN or card number, and never asks you to pay to join. Here is how to check something is really us.
Money apps attract impersonators. These rules do not change, so you can use them to check anything claiming to be Lertha.
Lertha will never
- Ask for your bank password, PIN, OTP, BVN, card number or CVV. Not by email, not by phone, not in chat, not in the app.
- Ask you to pay a fee to join, to unlock a score, to release money, or to speak to someone.
- Ask you to move money to any account, including one described as your own, safe, or held for you.
- Call or message you on WhatsApp about your account from a personal number.
If someone claiming to be Lertha does any of that
- Stop. Do not send money or share a code.
- If you shared a bank credential or an OTP, contact your bank immediately: they can act on your account, and we cannot.
- Tell us through the chat on this site so we can warn other people.
How to check something is really us
Anything genuine comes from a lertha.com address. We publish no phone number and no WhatsApp line, so a phone call or WhatsApp message claiming to be Lertha support is not Lertha. The safest route is always to start from lertha.com yourself rather than from a link you were sent.
